Global Co-writing Camp

The third installment of our large-scale global co-writing camp, "SONG BRIDGE 2026," will be held!

The "MUSIC WAY PROJECT" is a collaborative project between the Culture and Entertainment Industry Promotion Association (CEIPA), a general incorporated association established by five major organizations in the music industry, and the TOYOTA GROUP. As part of this project, which supports and promotes the globalization and sustainable growth of Japan's music industry, we will be holding a global music production co-writing camp, "SONG BRIDGE 2026," for three days from June 9th (Tue) to June 11th (Thu), 2026.

What is co-writing?

This method involves multiple creators collaborating to produce music, combining diverse perspectives and ideas to open up new possibilities in music. Originating in the Western music scene, it has become a "world-standard" production style, actively adopted in Japan and Asia in recent years. While there are methods for brainstorming online, this camp will bring together creators in a single studio. Through real-time chemistry, they will create music that could only be born in that moment.

[Features and Highlights of 'SONG BRIDGE 2026']

For its third installment, this event will bring together approximately 40 talented creators and artists from both Japan and abroad, far exceeding the scale of last year's Kyoto camp. Set in the Shibuya/Aoyama area, a hub of Japanese culture, eight studios will be operational each day, unfolding intensive sessions over three days.

The most distinctive feature of this event is the invitation of top artists representing various countries in Southeast Asia, where the music market is experiencing explosive growth, including Cup of Joe (Philippines), who was nominated for Best Asian Song at the MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN 2026. Through practical collaboration with Japanese creators and artists, we aim to create a system that will disseminate Japanese music in a new form to the Asian and global music markets.

Furthermore, updates on the camp will be posted regularly on the official SONG BRIDGE and TOYOTA GROUP social media accounts. Starting tomorrow, June 2nd, we plan to introduce participant information sequentially on the official SONG BRIDGE social media accounts.

With the motto "Japanese music drives the world," the MUSIC WAY PROJECT focuses on "developing talent" and "creating opportunities" for those who want to challenge the world with music. Please look forward to the works that will be created at their co-writing camp.

[Past Events]

  • The first installment (May 2025: Kyoto) coincided with the inaugural "MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN 2025," an international music awards ceremony, bringing together approximately 20 creators and artists from Japan and abroad to Kyoto. Over four days, sessions took place in temples, shrines, and traditional townhouses, and the songs created there have been subsequently released as works by the participating artists, including "ELUSIVE" by m-flo loves n-choco, "My Job" by STARGLOW, and "One Way Night" by Daito Yamamoto.
  • The second phase (December 2025: Tokyo) focused on "nurturing creators and artists," and consisted of a three-day workshop-style session. The session was themed around "creating an original song inspired by the 16th generation Toyota Crown," and the resulting song, "OUT" by Yuka, was adopted as the theme song for the Toyota Crown (Estate) style movie.
